FilmsArisia is the only con in the country regularly running 35mm projection and this year we are very proud to bring you a mix of old classic SF films and the latest releases, as well as a smattering of old television programs on film (including original Star Trek episodes... with commercials), fine documentaries, and a number of original NASA films celebrating the Apollo 11 and Apollo-Soyuz missions. On Saturday night, in conjunction with the Institute For Very Bad Cinema, we will be presenting a movie of astonishing badness which involves sentient meteorites that eat people. We are sad to report the death of Ron Harry, who has performed for many years as our organist for the Friday evening silent film. In celebration of his life and memorial to his death, rather than run a silent movie this year we will be running White Zombie with Bela Lugosi, one of the first sound movies made from the transitional era before dialogue became quite an integral part of the film. We hope he would have liked it. For the list of scheduled films from Arisia '04, click here. VideoFor the list of scheduled videos from Arisia '04, click here.
