Giant IceHouse Games After inviting the Looneys to be our first Special Gaming Guests in 2003, Arisia now owns four stashes of Giant Icehouse Pyramids. Come on by and play with them, or just sign your name to the stash that will commemorate Arisia 2004. There are hundreds of games that can be played with Icehouse Pyramids, and at least a dozen of them are worth playing a lot. :) IceTowers is turnless, easy to learn, and becomes more of a sport than a game with the large Pyramids. Also expect to see Zendo, and Volcano, and maybe even classic Icehouse, with the Giant Pyramids. Rules for these and other pyramid games are available at http://wunderland.com/icehouse/Default.html and on site. (Giant Chessboard Icehouse games will be available on Sunday, 11-1, in the ballroom.) Friday, 5pm-8pm System: Zendo Description: Zendo is a game of inductive logic in which the Master creates a rule and the Students attempt to discover it by building and studying arrangements of pyramids. The first student to correctly state the rule wins. This version will be played using large cardboard pyramids.(http://wunderland.com/WTS/Kory/Games/Zendo/index.html) Minimum/Maximum Players: No minimum or maximum. Level of Experience: Beginners welcome. Materials Required: All provided. Last night, he got a strange phone call from his daughter at the Sanitarium, claiming that 'the bloody faces' were coming to get her. "Tonight, Jeff's going in after her. And heaven help anyone who stands in his way." But members of her blood and adopted family hold dark secrets rooted in the occult underground and a nasty, barratry-happy ascension cabal in denial, and she could be taping a tragic ending. (Consider this PG-13, since there is violence, madness and mention of relationships, both same-sex and opposite-sex.) Minimum/Maximum Players: 2-12 Level of Experience: I am learning this too, and so beginners are very welcome, as well as people familiar with the game. I realize not everyone is familiar with it, and we can work through it together. Materials Required: I have pre-made character concepts, but we can work on the actual character creation together. This is a cinematic Star Wars adventure in which the young will be tested, the old redeemed and the powers of good will face their most desparate hour! Minimum/Maximum Players: 6 Level of Experience: The game will be run with a stripped down d20 rules-set. Players should be familiar with the original Star Wars trilogy and have roleplaying experience. Familiarity with the Star Wars d20 game is not necessary. Materials Required: Characters will be provided. Bring dice. Saturday, 2pm-6pm System: Diana, Warrior Princess Description:Imagine our world, as seen by someone as remote from us as we are from the ancient Greeks, and with as many gaps in their knowledge. Then imagine it converted into a TV series by a production company showing the loving attention to historical accuracy we have come to expect from such series. Throw realism out the window. Join Diana and her friends: Fergie, Red Ken, and Wild Bill Gates as they battle the evil War God Landmines, Thatcher the Sorceress, and other nefarious villains in a world of rampant anachronism based on the 20th Century. System: Star Fleet Battles Description:Two years ago, the Klingons invaded the Federation from the West. Star Fleet was caught off guard. The border stations were destroyed, and Federation forces were pushed back 2,700 parsecs. After a year of warfare, things looked very bad for the Federation. This January, the situation got worse. The Romulan Fleet smashed two starbases and eight battle stations in their drive across the Federation border. Star Fleet was pushed back 3,000 parsecs from the East. By August, the Federation had been reduced by 60%. The Coalition offered terms for an "honourable peace," demilitarizing Federation outer provinces, and allowing patrols by Klingon and Romulan "peacekeeping" patrols. Chairman Buckner convinced the Federation Council to accept the Coalition terms, and entered into negotiations on the finer points of the surrender. The formal ceremony was scheduled for Christmas Day in a Federation system near where the Klingon and Romulan forces had linked up. Four Federation heavy cruisers rendezvoused with four Coalition cruisers (two Klingon, two Romulan) at Olsen's Reach, a small commercial platform in the system. Careful protocols were specified to prevent an incident during the final negotiations and ceremony. Minimum/Maximum Players: 2-8 Level of Experience: Beginner to Intermediate Materials Required: Each player should bring a pencil with eraser.
